The Graduate Entry Programme was created to attract the brightest and most driven new graduates through a
combination of top quartile pay, professional training and attractive promotion prospects. Each summer we
take between 5 – 8 exceptional individuals on the programme.
New grads either join us as Negotiators,
Property Managers or
New Business Execs.
The programme begins with an intense period of training where we bring in external trainers who focus on
developing communication, organisation and selling skills. These training sessions are interactive, fun
and massively useful – we even bring in actors to pose as landlords and tenants, providing a risk-free
environment for honing new skills.
The next part of the programme focuses on industry knowledge and the legislative regime that surrounds the
lettings business. Our senior managers and directors address key technical topics including the Housing Act,
Tenancy Deposit Scheme and the Tenancy Agreement. This then leads on neatly to the ARLA technical award,
which involves four exams and 100 hours of home study. We encourage all new grads to get these done within their
first six months with us, and the good news is that nearly all of our new grads pass these exams first time and
receive a £500 bonus from us for doing so.
Career progression is a key feature of the new grad scheme. Bonuses are awarded every six months and promotion
to either Senior Negotiator or Property Manager is expected from top performers after 18 - 24 months.
“I joined Edmund Cude straight from university on the Graduate Entry Programme. I wanted to work in property
and was looking for an employer that would invest as much in me as I intended to invest in the company.
The training programme here has been brilliant and the actress that helped with the communication skills
session was so convincing, I genuinely thought she wanted to rent a property through us!
The company is very welcoming and the six monthly development reviews (which coincide with the bonus payments)
are really helpful for knowing that you are on track and identifying what other areas of training would be
helpful. Last but not least, the people here are great. There is no shortage of opportunities to go out
after work and the monthly team drinks (all paid for) are a great way to keep in touch with the new grads
in the other offices”
