Our paralegals are in constant communication with our team of negotiators and act as the key point of
liaison when preparing the tenancy agreements and the associated legal documents required when moving a
tenant into one of our landlord’s properties. Re-drafting and amending contracts forms an important part
of the Paralegal’s day-to-day responsibility, as does verifying the suitability of the tenant by carrying
out extensive background checks and obtaining references from employers and previous landlords.
A pre-requisite selection criterion for our paralegal team is a law degree from a top tier university.
In many some cases our paralegals also have further legal qualifications in the form of an LPC.
We sponsor continuing professional development provided by the National Association of Licenced Paralegals
and the Association of Residential Lettings Agents and our Paralegal team meets regularly with solicitors to
discuss the latest implications of the ever changing regulatory environment.
“I joined Edmund Cude having completed a Law undergraduate degree and subsequently the Legal Practice Course
at the College of Law. The volume of work here is staggering at times, but the team is extremely supportive.
One thing that I particularly like is the regular contact between the offices which reinforces the strong sense of
working as a team.
There is definitely a culture of rewarding hard work and this is demonstrated by the fact that
everyone participates in the company bonus scheme which pays out in Spring and Autumn every year.
In addition, the opportunities for training and development are excellent and I have learnt an enormous amount
in the period that I have been working here."
